Randy Moss has often been portrayed as another athlete with a lousy attitude and a rotten persona. Again, Moss finds himself in the news for something negative as charges of battery have been brought upon the star wideout by a woman from Florida. Below is the clip of Moss’s initial response to the charges during a locker room interview session.

The media’s characterization of Moss as a bad egg is somewhat deserved based on a variety of legal incidents and negative comments involving Moss. In this interview though, Moss shows himself to be mature and thoughtful in how he speaks. Unlike many of his past media encounters, Moss shows restraint and intelligence while remaining as candid as possible given his legal situation. More importantly, Moss had convinced the media that not only was he not guilty per the battery charges but that this issue would have no impact on his team whatsoever.

I am not proclaiming Randy Moss’ innocence here; that is for a judge and a jury of his peers to decide. What am saying though is that Moss now knows how to play the media game at this point in his career. Whether he learned this from “Mr. No Comment” himself, Bill Belichek, or from “Mr. Smirk”, Tom Brady, is unclear, but the Patriot Way has sept into Randy Moss.
